₹20,804 CRORE RAILWAY PUSH: FOLLOW THE TRACK, NOT THE HYPE

Imagine a railway line carrying more and more trains every year. At some point, the tracks become crowded. The solution is simple: add more tracks. The Cabinet has approved **8 railway multitracking projects worth ₹20,804 crore** across **9 states and 31 districts**. Around **1,196 km** will be added to the existing network, with completion targeted by 2029-30. The projects are expected to improve capacity, connectivity and freight movement. The projects could create around **74 million tonnes per annum of additional freight capacity**, covering commodities such as coal, cement, iron, steel, automobiles, containers, foodgrains and petroleum products. 📌 **Nifty 500 stocks that could be relevant to this theme:** • **

RVNL
** – railway infrastructure execution • **IRCON International** – railway EPC & infrastructure • **RITES** – railway consultancy & engineering • **Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC)** – railway project financing • **RailTel Corporation** – railway telecom & digital infrastructure • **BEML** – rail and transportation equipment • **Titagarh Rail Systems** – wagons and rolling stock • **Texmaco Rail & Engineering** – freight rail infrastructure and wagons These companies may have different levels of direct or indirect exposure; the announcement itself does **not** guarantee additional orders or earnings. Several of these names are part of the Nifty 500 universe. Government infrastructure spending can create sector-wide opportunities, but investors should study order books, valuations, execution and earnings before deciding. Defence Stocks Rally ₹1.10 Lakh Crore Procurement Approval!

Defence Stocks Rally After ₹1.10 Lakh Crore Procurement Approval Defence stocks were among the standout performers on Tuesday after the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) gave in-principle approval to defence procurement proposals worth approximately ₹1.10 lakh crore. The proposals are focused heavily on domestic sourcing, with around 98% of procurement value expected to come from Indian industries. Shares of HAL, BEL, Paras Defence, BEML and Astra Microwave gained during the session, with several stocks rising up to around 4%. The announcement reinforces expectations of sustained order flow for India's domestic defence manufacturers. The development is particularly important for companies exposed to aerospace, electronics, missiles, radar systems and military platforms. Investors are now likely to monitor individual order announcements and execution timelines following the government's approval.

₹1.1 lakh crore defence push boosts sector outlook

Defence stocks gained up to 6% after the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) granted in-principle approval for military procurement proposals worth around ₹1.1 lakh crore. The approvals cover radars, advanced light helicopters, mine-laying systems, mobility vehicles and other critical defence equipment, creating a significant potential order pipeline for Indian defence manufacturers. Importantly, around 98% of the approved procurement is expected to be sourced from Indian industry, strengthening the opportunity for domestic players such as Data Patterns, Mishra Dhatu Nigam

BEL
, HAL, BEML and Paras Defence. The approvals include Arudhra radars for the Navy, marine gas turbines, ground-based multi-purpose jammers and advanced helicopters, supporting demand across defence electronics, aerospace and critical materials. The development improves medium-to-long-term order visibility for the sector and reinforces the government’s push towards defence indigenisation. For companies with established technology capabilities and strong execution track records, the conversion of these approvals into firm orders could support revenue growth and capacity utilisation. However, investors should distinguish between in-principle approvals and actual order wins. Procurement timelines, competition, execution and already elevated valuations across several defence stocks remain key risks. Overall, the ₹1.1 lakh crore procurement pipeline is a strong sector-level catalyst, with the 98% domestic sourcing component particularly positive for Indian defence companies. Actual order conversion and execution will be the key triggers for sustained earnings growth.

Pre Market Report & Global Cues| 08 September

Global cues are mixed this morning. US markets were closed due to Labour Day, so there is no fresh direction from the US side. At the same time, US 10Y yield is around 4.79%, still on the higher side. Crude is the main concern. Brent is near $97 and holding at higher levels. This is negative for our market as it puts pressure on inflation and the rupee. Asian markets are mixed. Kospi is up nearly 2%, Shanghai and Nikkei are slightly positive, but Hang Seng and Straits Times are in red. Because of this, Gift Nifty is indicating a flat opening. On the domestic side: India 10Y yield is around 6.96% (slightly lower) Rupee is near 94.5, still weak overall Nifty closed at 23,779 in the last session and continues to look a bit weak. There will be stock-specific action today. 1. Adani Power is in focus after approval for a 330 MW hydro project. 2. GE Vernova T&D India may see interest as L1 bidder for a 6,000 MW HVDC project. 3. Garuda Construction has signed a deal with ₹1,800 Cr potential. 4. Defence stocks like BEL, BEML and Paras Defence may stay strong after approval of ₹1.1 lakh Cr defence deals. SBI and Bank of Baroda will also be watched due to developments around the expected NSE IPO. On the weaker side: 1. PVR Inox may see some reaction. 2. Mankind Pharma is in focus due to subsidiary-related news. From sector side: 1. Defence and power look strong 2. IT may stay under pressure 3. Aviation and paints may remain weak due to high crude Today's View: Market is likely to open flat. Crude near $97 is the key issue right now. If Nifty fails to move above 24,000, selling pressure can continue. For any stable move, we need support either from global markets or cooling crude prices.

BEML BAGS Rs 180 CRORE ORDER FOR VANDE BHARAT SLEEPER TRAINS

Government-backed entity

BEML
has secured an order worth about Rs 180 crore from the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) for the manufacturing and supply of Vande Bharat sleeper trainsets, thereby giving the rail equipment maker another order win in India’s expanding premium train programme. The sleeper version of Vande Bharat is being developed for longer-distance journeys, with the trains designed to combine the speed and modern features of the Vande Bharat platform with overnight travel. BEML is a public-sector engineering company under the Ministry of Defence, and it manufactures a range of products spanning defence equipment, rail and metro coaches, and heavy engineering machinery. The company has increasingly focused on expanding it's presence in the rail and metro segment, with Vande Bharat emerging as a key opportunity as Indian Railways looks to add more modern trainsets to its network.

Defence & Explosives: India’s New Growth Story?

Defence spending, order books, capacity expansion and execution can influence earnings, but investors must study valuation, risks and business quality. Imagine India’s defence story as a long road being built. The first layer is **demand**. India is increasing its focus on domestic defence production, ammunition, drones, missiles and advanced military systems. One company getting strong market attention is **Solar Industries India**. Its share price has risen about **79% from its March 2026 low**, while its market capitalisation recently approached ₹2 trillion. But the bigger lesson is not simply about one stock. Solar’s Q1 FY27 revenue grew 70% YoY, while its defence business grew 123%. The company also reported a defence order book above ₹18,000 crore. If this broader defence cycle continues, companies across the Nifty 500 connected with aerospace, electronics, missiles, shipbuilding and military equipment may remain important stocks to **study**. 🔎 **Nifty 500 names to research for this theme:** • **

SOLARINDS
** — explosives & ammunition • ** Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL)** — aircraft & aerospace • **Bharat Electronics (BEL)** — defence electronics • **Bharat Dynamics (BDL)** — missiles & weapon systems • **Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders** — naval platforms • **Cochin Shipyard** — shipbuilding & defence • **BEML** — defence mobility & equipment • **Mishra Dhatu Nigam (MIDHANI)** — strategic materials The important takeaway? A rising share price tells only half the story. The real story is **orders → execution → revenue → profit → valuation**. That is where serious learning begins. ⚠️ **Educational content only.
