THEMATIC INVESTING--->Bharat NCAP 2.0 Coming in 2027!

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that Bharat NCAP 2.0 is planned to roll out from October 2027, with the new framework going beyond traditional crash testing to assess the entire vehicle safety chain. The bigger story? India's automobile industry could be entering a new era where safety, ADAS and accident-avoidance technology become increasingly important ##What Is Bharat NCAP 2.0? Bharat NCAP is India's official vehicle safety rating programme, launched in 2023. The current system gives vehicles a 1-to-5 star safety rating based primarily on crash performance and occupant protection. Bharat NCAP 2.0 is expected to take the framework much further. The broader assessment will include areas such as: • Crash protection • Accident avoidance • ADAS features This means vehicle safety will no longer be judged only by what happens during a crash, but also by how effectively the vehicle can help prevent one. ------->Who Could Benefit? 1. Bharat Forge A major auto-component and engineering player. Greater adoption of advanced safety and technology could support the long-term shift toward higher-value automotive components. 2. Bosch India One of the most direct plays on automotive safety technology. Bosch operates across automotive electronics, braking, sensors and driver-assistance technologies. 3.

TMPV
Tata Motors already has a strong presence in the safety-focused passenger vehicle segment. Higher safety standards could favour manufacturers that have already invested heavily in vehicle safety architecture. 4. Mahindra & Mahindra Mahindra's SUV portfolio and increasing focus on technology and safety . 5. Uno Minda A key automotive component supplier with exposure to electronics ------->he Bigger Investment Theme It could be: Who supplies the technology required to achieve those ratings? More safety requirements can mean more: Sensors → Cameras → Radar → Electronics → ADAS → Safety Components

AUTO STOCKS SLIDE AS CRUDE SURGE OVERSHADOWS STRONG

HEROMOTOCO
Auto stocks came under heavy selling pressure on September 2, with the Nifty Auto index falling more than 2%, as a fresh surge in crude oil prices amid escalating US-Iran tensions weighed on investor sentiment. The decline came despite broadly strong August sales reported by automakers and favourable demand commentary from brokerages. Crude prices extended their gains after the US and Iran exchanged strikes overnight, raising concerns about potential disruptions to oil supplies from the Middle East. Brent crude rose 0.8% a barrel in early trade after jumping more than $4 in the previous session, while WTI gained 0.5%. Higher crude prices are generally negative for automobile companies as they can increase input and transportation costs, add to inflationary pressures and potentially weaken vehicle demand. The broader risk-off sentiment across Indian equities further amplified selling pressure in the auto sector. All constituents of the Nifty Auto index traded in the red. Hero MotoCorp was the biggest loser, falling 5.18%, followed by Eicher Motors, which declined 3.99%. Bosch fell 3.43%, Sona Comstar dropped 3.05%, and Bajaj Auto declined 2.75%. M&M was down 1.86%, while Maruti Suzuki and TVS Motor fell 1.32% and 0.98%, respectively. The selling came despite strong August sales numbers from several automakers.

When Cars Become Computers, Cybersecurity Becomes Part..

Imagine a car factory running smoothly—until one cyberattack suddenly stops production. That is no longer a movie story; it is a real business risk. Maruti Suzuki CEO Hisashi Takeuchi recently highlighted that India's auto industry must stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated hackers. He also stressed cybersecurity, contingency planning, deeper localisation, supplier resilience and technology. The bigger lesson? Tomorrow's automobile industry may depend not only on engines, batteries and components, but also on **software, data, digital systems and secure supply chains**. 📌 **Nifty 500 stocks connected to this theme for EDUCATIONAL STUDY:** • **

** — auto manufacturing, digitalisation and localisation • **Tata Motors** — connected vehicles, manufacturing and supply-chain technology • **Mahindra & Mahindra** — SUVs, EVs, technology and manufacturing scale • **Bajaj Auto** — connected mobility and advanced manufacturing • **Bosch** — automotive electronics, software and technology solutions • **Sona BLW Precision Forgings** — EV and precision automotive components • **Uno Minda** — automotive electronics and component localisation • **Motherson** — global automotive component and technology ecosystem • **KPIT Technologies** — automotive software and digital engineering • **Tata Elxsi** — automotive software, design and digital engineering These companies are **not being presented as buy/sell recommendations**. Hero MotoCorp’s EV Bet Is Getting Bigger

Hero MotoCorp’s electric strategy is no longer limited to two-wheelers. Its investment in Euler Motors is opening another EV growth avenue — electric commercial vehicles. Euler Motors has reportedly doubled its sales and revenue while expanding manufacturing capacity to address rising demand from India’s last-mile logistics and urban transportation ecosystem. The bigger story is the EV transition beyond passenger cars and scooters. India’s logistics industry is increasingly looking for vehicles with lower running costs, better fleet economics and reduced dependence on conventional fuels. Electric commercial vehicles can become an important part of this transition, particularly for last-mile delivery. For Hero MotoCorp, the Euler Motors investment provides exposure to this emerging segment without having to build the entire commercial EV business from scratch. The potential beneficiaries are not limited to the EV manufacturer. The broader ecosystem includes battery technology, auto components, charging infrastructure, financing and fleet electrification. Indian Nifty 500 stocks to watch from this broader theme include: Hero MotoCorp

HEROMOTOCO
(HEROMOTOCO), Exide Industries (EXIDEIND), Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M), Tata Motors (TATAMOTORS), Motherson (MOTHERSON), Bosch (BOSCHLTD) and TVS Motor Company (TVSMOTOR). But the opportunity comes with risks: EV competition is intensifying, technology is evolving rapidly, margins can remain under pressure during the scaling phase, and commercial EV adoption depends heavily on fleet economics and charging infrastructure. The key learning is simple: when studying an EV company, look beyond the vehicle. Follow the entire value chain and identify which listed companies could benefit as adoption scales. EV growth creates opportunities across vehicles, batteries, components and infrastructure, making value-chain analysis essential for identifying potential beneficiaries.
