Sugar Stocks Slide as Duty-Free Imports Put Price Rally at Risk

Sugar stocks fell up to 5% after the government allowed duty-free imports of 1 million tonnes of raw sugar for the first time in nearly a decade. The move aims to boost domestic supply and control rising sugar prices, which have surged nearly 40% in the past two months. While higher sugar prices had supported mill margins, increased imports could now cap further price hikes, putting pressure on sugar stocks in the near term.

Now this is a high-quality breakout setup — much cleaner than Uttam Sugar and closer to your better names.

TALBROAUTO
Structure Insight You’ve marked a clear rectangular accumulation range: Support ≈ ₹220 Resistance ≈ ₹325 Price has spent a long time inside this box, which means: 👉 Strong accumulation + repeated absorption of supply Now we have a decisive breakout above ₹325 What Makes This Setup Strong 1. Clean Range (Very Important) This is not noisy like Uttam Sugar. Multiple clean touches on resistance Clear horizontal structure Easy for institutions to accumulate 👉 This increases reliability significantly 2. Explosive Breakout Candle The breakout is not weak: ~20% move Strong close near highs Breakout candle stands out from prior price action 👉 Indicates: Institutional participation Not just retail chasing 3. Failed Breakouts Earlier → Now Success Earlier attempts near ₹325 got rejected. Now: Clean breakout No immediate selling 👉 This shift = change in character (CHOCH)

On Uttam Sugar, you’ve marked a cup-like rounding structure

UTTAMSUGAR
What’s Good Here 1. Rounded Recovery Clear shift from downtrend → accumulation → higher lows Right side of cup is stronger than left decline → bullish sign 2. Strong Momentum into Resistance Recent candles show impulsive move upward Buyers are clearly in control in the short term 3. Multi-Touch Resistance ₹275 has been tested multiple times historically → Once it breaks, move can be fast due to supply exhaustion Where It’s Slightly Weak (Important) This is where you need to be sharp: ❗ 1. Cup is Not Very Clean Structure is a bit noisy and uneven Multiple sharp spikes inside the base Not a smooth institutional accumulation like GESHIP 👉 Means: More retail participation Slightly lower reliability ❗ 2. No Clear Volume Climax (from chart view) Breakout should ideally come with strong expansion confirmation Otherwise risk of fake breakout ❗ 3. Resistance is Very Close You’re not early here You are at decision point, not accumulation phase
