Margin Recovery and India Growth Support H1 CY26 Performance

delivered a solid H1 CY2026 performance despite challenging conditions in the European automotive market and cost pressures in India. Consolidated sales increased 13% YoY to ₹5,084.8 crore, while EBITDA rose 16% to ₹848.6 crore. EBITDA margin consequently improved to 16.7% from 16.3% in H1 CY2025. The European business was the biggest contributor to the improvement in profitability. While sales in euro terms declined 3% because of weak automotive demand, EBITDA margin improved sharply to 15.8% from 13.1% in H1 CY2025. EBITDA increased 35% YoY. The improvement primarily reflects restructuring measures undertaken during the previous year, which helped reduce the impact of lower production volumes and improve the profitability of the European operations. European PAT increased 51% during the period. This is an important development because it demonstrates that CIE can improve profitability even without strong volume growth. However, sustaining these margins while European vehicle production remains weak will remain a key monitorable.
