UNO Minda rebounds after retesting long-term support!

UNO Minda rebounds after retesting long-term support UNO Minda Limited (NSE: UNOMINDA) was trading around ₹1,284 on September 21 after rebounding from a recent breakout retest. The stock also retested its 200-day SMA, where buying interest emerged, strengthening the short-term technical structure. The Point & Figure chart has formed a Bullish 100% Pole from its 10-column moving average. The 1% Renko chart has also produced a Bullish Swing Engulfing pattern after retesting its 40-brick moving average. The combination of the 200-day SMA retest and bullish signals across Point & Figure and Renko charts gives the setup several independent technical reference points. The key question is whether the rebound develops into sustained follow-through. My view is that ₹1,280-₹1,285 is the important near-term zone. Holding this area would preserve the recent rebound structure. A break below the defined risk level would require reassessment.

Uno Minda gains 6.5% after expansion plans

UNOMINDA
Minda Limited closed September 18 at ₹1,284, gaining 6.56%. The stock traded between ₹1,206.80 and ₹1,284 during the session and closed at the day's high. Volume was around 1.28 million shares. The move comes against the backdrop of the company's recently announced ₹1,415 crore expansion programme across several business divisions. The plan includes a new aluminium casting facility at Hosur, expansion of two-wheeler alloy wheel operations at Kharkhoda, a Bengaluru moulding expansion and a new facility in Maharashtra through its Toyoda Gosei joint venture. The capital allocation is significant because it is spread across multiple product categories rather than being concentrated in one facility. According to the company's plans, the Hosur casting project carries estimated capex of ₹510 crore, while the Toyoda Gosei South India facility is expected to involve around ₹670 crore. My view: the expansion provides a potential route for Uno Minda to increase capacity as automotive component demand develops. But capex announcements do not immediately translate into earnings. The important variables will be commissioning timelines, capacity utilisation, customer additions and return on invested capital. The technical setup is also worth monitoring. The stock closed at ₹1,284, exactly at the session high, after opening at ₹1,213.20. That shows strong intraday demand. However, the stock is still below its reported 52-week high of ₹1,382, so the current move should be evaluated as a recovery rather than automatically treated as a new long-term breakout. For the next session, ₹1,284 is the immediate reference level. Holding above ₹1,250 after the sharp move would keep the short-term structure stronger. A move through ₹1,300 with sustained volume would provide additional price confirmation, while a sharp fall back below the day's opening zone would weaken the momentum. Call: Watch capacity execution, utilisation and whether the high-volume price move sustains.

UNO Minda Ltd Surges 6.56%: ₹1,284 Level in Focus

UNO Minda closed at ₹1,284, gaining 6.56% in a strong recovery session. The sharp move came after the stock found support near the ₹1,190–₹1,205 zone. UNO Minda has shown a strong rebound from its recent correction, with today's price action indicating renewed buying interest. The stock has moved back above the ₹1,240–₹1,260 area, which was acting as an important resistance zone in the recent sessions. Technically, the stock is now trading above its short-term moving averages, improving the immediate price structure. The ₹1,260 area can now act as an important near-term support if the stock sustains above it. The next important resistance is around ₹1,320–₹1,330, which is close to the upper Bollinger Band and the previous price reaction zone. A sustained move above this zone can bring ₹1,390 into focus. On the downside, ₹1,260 is the first support, followed by the ₹1,205–₹1,195 zone. Holding these levels would keep the current recovery structure intact. The MACD is still showing some weakness on the displayed chart, so follow-through buying and price sustainability will be important after today's sharp rise. Traders should also watch whether the stock can hold above ₹1,260 instead of giving back a significant portion of today's gains. My View: The 6.56% up move has significantly improved the short-term price structure. ₹1,260 is now an important level to watch on the downside, while ₹1,320–₹1,330 is the immediate resistance zone. What to Watch Next: Sustaining above ₹1,260, price action around ₹1,320–₹1,330 and volume-supported continuation of the current recovery. Uno Minda Plans ₹1,415 Crore Manufacturing Expansion

UNOMINDA
Uno Minda has announced a combined investment of approximately ₹1,415 crore across four manufacturing expansion projects, aimed at increasing capacity across aluminium casting, two-wheeler alloy wheels, moulding and automotive component segments. The largest project involves a new greenfield aluminium casting facility at Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with an estimated investment of ₹510 crore. The new facility is expected to increase aluminium casting capacity at the Hosur location from around 13,000 MT to 34,000 MT at peak capacity. Production is planned in phases, with the first phase expected to begin by Q4 FY28. The company will also establish a new two-wheeler alloy wheel manufacturing facility at Kharkhoda, Haryana, with an investment of around ₹155 crore. The plant will have an annual capacity of 3.3 million units, including the relocation of 2 million units of existing capacity from Supa, Maharashtra. Phase 1 production is expected by Q4 FY28. Another ₹80 crore is planned for expanding the moulding facility operated by Uno Minda Kyoraku in Bengaluru. The expanded facility is expected to commence operations by Q1 FY28 and is intended to cater to increasing customer demand. A major part of the programme is being undertaken through Uno Minda's joint venture with Japan's Toyoda Gosei. The JV plans to establish a new plant at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, with an estimated investment of ₹670 crore. The facility will manufacture interior and exterior automotive parts, airbags, hoses and body-sealing systems, with operations expected by Q4 FY29. Alongside the expansion programme, the company has also received board approval for raising up to ₹600 crore through NCDs and up to ₹500 crore through commercial paper, providing additional funding flexibility for its expansion plans.
