The Tata Power Company Limited is an India-based integrated power company. The principal business of the Company is generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. Its segments include Thermal & Hydro, Renewables, Transmission and Distribution, and Others. Its Thermal & Hydro segment comprises of generation of power from hydroelectric sources and thermal sources (coal, gas and oil) from plants owned and operated under lease arrangement and related ancillary services. Its Renewables segment comprises of generation of power from renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar. Its Transmission and Distribution comprises of transmission and distribution network, sale of power to retail customers through distribution network and related ancillary services. Its Others segment comprises of project management contracts/infrastructure management services, property under development and satellite communication.
