BSE Faces Setback as Expiry Shifts to Thursday; NSE Secures Tuesday Slot
There is a lot of negative news for the Bombay Stock Exchange. According to CNBC sources, NSE has been granted the Tuesday expiry. BSE's expiry will now shift from Tuesday to Thursday. This is very negative news for the Bombay Stock Exchange. SEBI had said that both exchanges can keep expiry on only one day, and that day won’t be the same. It had to be either Tuesday or Thursday for any exchange. The final decision was pending, but now it's clear — NSE has received Tuesday for expiry, and BSE has been given Thursday. This decision means the BSE, which was gaining market share from NSE, may now stop growing. In fact, BSE may start losing its market share in index derivatives. Currently, BSE holds 20% market share while NSE has about 80%. So, this expiry shift is very negative news for BSE. According to analysts, this change could lead to a 7–8% decline in BSE's earnings. Let’s see how the Bombay Stock Exchange stock reacts to this news.

Why Bajaj Finance share is down 90% today?
So, in reality, Bajaj Finance share was not down 90% today. The share had an X-Bonus and X-Split rate. That means, in the result of quarter 4, Bajaj Finance announced a stock split of 1:2 and a bonus of 4:1. That means, before today, the person who had 1 Bajaj Finance share now has 10 shares. In other words, 9 shares have been given additionally. But, there’s no such thing as “free” in the stock market. If extra shares are given, the price gets adjusted accordingly. The price of Bajaj Finance, which was around ₹9300 earlier, has now come down to around ₹930. The remaining shares (bonus and split adjusted) will be credited to your demat account by 27th June. Earlier, the last time Bajaj Finance announced a stock split and bonus together was in 2016. Now, after 9 years, they have again declared both together. So no, Bajaj Finance share is not down 90% today. This movement is simply due to its X-Bonus and X-Stock Split date.

Oil and Gold Don’t React as Expected
So everyone was thinking that due to the Iran-Israel conflict, the market will go down, oil prices will go up, gold prices will go up. Oil prices were also predicted to go up to 90-95 dollars in the coming week. But it's exactly the opposite today. Oil opened up 5% this morning, but right now it's trading 2% negative. Gold is also trading half a percent negative. Equities are not in red, not flat, but in green and that too 1% positive. So what can we say about this? The smart money was already prizing that there could be some peace deal in the coming time. And maybe Iran has just announced that they are ready to give up its uranium holding to avoid its conflict. But what do we have to learn from this now? That the markets are markets. We have to always stay with the trend in the markets, never go against the market, just go with the flow. If the market is showing a positive trend, like the market opened up this morning, US futures opened up, gift nifty opened up, but they didn't give a negative reaction. So we don't have to guess anything from ourselves and play it as a negative, because the market has not yet given a sign of it, while there was a very big war on the weekend and it is still going on. But we should always stay with the market, just go with the flow of the market.
