HCLTech profit rises 21.2% as AI revenue grows

HCL Technologies Limited (NSE: HCLTECH) reported Q2 FY27 net profit of ₹5,132 crore, up 21.2% year-on-year. Annualised advanced AI revenue reached $219 million, while new deal bookings increased 27% to $3.26 billion. The strongest part of this result is the improvement in profitability. HCLTech's EBIT margin expanded to 18.2%, supported by better operating leverage and growth in AI-related services. The company also raised the lower end of its FY27 constant-currency revenue growth guidance from 1% to 2.5%, retaining the upper end at 4%. However, I would not confuse strong AI growth with an immediate acceleration in the overall business. Annualised AI revenue of $219 million is still relatively small compared with HCLTech's total revenue base. AI adoption is creating new implementation opportunities, but it is also allowing clients to demand more output with fewer billable hours. The net impact on revenue will depend on how successfully HCLTech monetises these new services. The increase in deal bookings is encouraging because it provides potential future revenue visibility. The next test is converting those bookings into revenue without sacrificing margins. My view: HCLTech has delivered a better quarter, but the revised guidance remains modest. I would focus on whether AI-related demand starts accelerating overall revenue growth rather than valuing the company solely on its AI growth rate. What I am watching next: - Q3 FY27 revenue growth and deal conversion. - Whether EBIT margins remain within the 17.5% to 18.5% guidance range. - Whether FY27 growth moves towards the upper end of the 2.5% to 4% guidance.

Indian Stock Market Today IT Stocks Lead the Recovery

HCLTECH
Indian equity markets witnessed a recovery on Tuesday October 13 2026 as strong quarterly earnings from HCLTech improved sentiment toward information technology stocks. The Nifty 50 and Sensex advanced during early trading while HCLTech and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) emerged among the notable gainers. The Nifty IT index also recorded strong gains as investors reassessed valuations following a prolonged period of weakness in the sector. However the broader market environment remains uncertain. Rising retail inflation elevated crude oil prices foreign investor outflows and global technology-sector volatility continue to influence investor sentiment. Market participants are likely to focus on quarterly earnings management guidance and currency movements for further direction. Investors should avoid making decisions solely on headline-driven momentum. A disciplined approach involving price confirmation risk management and company fundamentals remains important in volatile conditions. RBL Bank Q2 profit jumps to ₹481.7 crore

RBLBANK
RBL Bank Limited reported Q2 FY27 net profit of ₹481.7 crore, compared with ₹179 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net interest income rose 37.4% YoY to ₹2,131 crore. Asset quality also improved sequentially: gross NPA declined to 1.02% from 1.30%, while net NPA fell to 0.29% from 0.37%. However, provisions increased to ₹766.5 crore from ₹599.2 crore in the previous quarter. <Link url="***** title="Source: Financial Express"/>. Why this matters Higher net interest income and improved reported asset-quality ratios are encouraging. However, rising provisions are a reminder that the bank's credit costs and risk profile still need close attention. What to monitor next Net interest margin and deposit costs. Gross and net NPA trends. Credit costs and provisioning. Loan growth and deposit mobilisation. Return on assets and return on equity. My analytical view: The results show substantial year-on-year profit improvement. To determine whether this performance is sustainable, investors should assess the source of earnings growth and whether lower bad-loan ratios persist without elevated provisioning. Risk to the thesis: Higher credit costs or funding pressure could weigh on future profitability. SEBI RA Disclaimer: Umang Rajesh Bhutada is a SEBI-registered Research Analyst (INH000023001). Nifty Outlook for 13-Oct-2026 looks Bullish

On October 13, 2026, the NIFTY 50 index experienced a powerful bullish surge, leaping 1.60% to close at 22,721.95, its absolute highest point of the trading session. The Daily MACD Histogram above zero and Hourly MACD Histogram also above zero indicates a bullish trend. The Daily RSI 14 above 40 and below the mid line 50 levels indicating a neutral to bearish view. But, the Hourly RSI 14 is above 60 indicating a bullish trend. Thus the overall trend of Nifty looks bullish, and the buyers are in control over the markets. Buy on dips would be the best strategy to deploy for today’s market considering the overall trend of Nifty. We may expect a change in trend only if the price sustains below the support level. Can Initiate selling only if prices continue to sustain below the support level. I have provided Nifty Spot resistance and support levels which would help you learn in taking informed trading decisions using these levels and understand how support and resistance levels work in financial markets. Nifty Spot Resistance 1 - 22825 Resistance 2 - 22885 Support 1 - 22670 Support 2 - 22635 Happy Learning, Happy Trading and have a wonderful day. Top Gainers : HCLTECH, TCS, SHRIRAMFIN.

HCLTech Q2 profit rises 21%, AI revenue jumps 78%

HCL Technologies Limited (NSE: HCLTECH) reported Q2 FY27 revenue of ₹35,620 crore, up 11.5% YoY, while net profit rose 21.2% to ₹5,132 crore. Advanced AI revenue reached $219 million, up 78% YoY in constant currency terms. HCLTech Key details • Revenue: ₹35,620 crore, up 11.5% YoY. • Net profit: ₹5,132 crore, up 21.2% YoY. • EBIT margin improved to 18.2%, up 71 bps YoY. • New deal wins stood at $3.26 billion. • Advanced AI revenue rose 28.4% QoQ and 78% YoY to $219 million. • HCLTech now expects FY27 constant-currency revenue growth of 2.5% to 4%. My view The standout number is not just profit growth, but the acceleration in AI revenue alongside margin improvement. HCLTech is showing that AI can become a meaningful revenue stream while also supporting operating efficiency. At the same time, management’s 2.5% to 4% FY27 growth guidance suggests that the broader demand environment is still not fully strong. What I’m watching next I will track AI revenue growth, conversion of the $3.26 billion deal wins and whether EBIT margin stays within the 17.5% to 18.5% FY27 guidance band. Stance: Positive on AI momentum and margin execution, but stronger overall revenue growth is still the key trigger. Disclosure: I do not have any holding or position in the stock mentioned above.
