Bajaj Finance Nifty Top Loser August 24 2026 NBFC Pressure

Bajaj Finance Limited

BAJFINANCE
was among the top three losers in the Nifty 50 on August 24, 2026, declining 1.64 per cent as financial stocks led the index's downside even as metal and IT names provided partial support to the broader market. SBI Life Insurance Company, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, and Bajaj Finance were the top losers in the Nifty 50 index on August 24. The Nifty PSU Bank declined the most among all sectoral indices. The Nifty Financial Services index declined 0.4 per cent. The weakness in financial stocks was reflected in the Nifty, with SBI Life Insurance, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv among the biggest losers.</cite> The August 24 decline marks the third week of persistent selling pressure in Bajaj Finance Limited since the RBI released draft norms on August 7 proposing that NBFCs offer only term loans and discontinue revolving credit products. The feedback window on those norms closes August 28, 2026 — four days from today — making this the final week of regulatory uncertainty before the market gets its first signal on how the RBI will respond to industry feedback. The fundamental picture remains intact beneath the regulatory overhang: Q1 FY27 net profit: Rs 6,081 crore, up 28 per cent year on year AUM: Rs 5,46,944 crore, up 24 per cent year on year New loans booked: 16.13 million, up 20 per cent year on year Customer franchise: 124.43 million, up 17 per cent year on year Gross NPA: 0.96 per cent, down from 1.03 per cent a year ago 52-week high: Rs 1,177.60 — hit on August 4, 2026 52-week low: Rs 788.40 — hit on March 23, 2026 August 28 is now the most important near-term date for every NBFC investor. Whether the RBI softens the draft — particularly on grandfathering existing revolving credit facilities — will determine whether Bajaj Finance's Q1 FY27 fundamentals can finally reassert themselves over the regulatory narrative.

It's advantage is the point-of-sale network — consumer durable financing at the checkout counter across urban and rural India, which puts it in front of the borrower before a bank ever sees the application. That first touch converts into an EMI card, then a personal loan, then a mortgage, and the cross-sell franchise is what a new entrant cannot replicate by pricing alone. Underneath sits nearly two decades of repayment data across roughly 100 million customers, which is what allows underwriting speed at scale in segments banks approach cautiously.

buy on dips opportunity to be planned

BAJFINANCE
Bajaj Finance is one of India's leading diversified NBFCs, with businesses spanning consumer finance, personal loans, SME lending, commercial lending and other financial products. The latest Q1 FY27 numbers were strong: consolidated AUM reached ₹5.47 lakh crore, up about 24% YoY, while PAT rose 28% YoY to ₹6,081 crore. 2. Fundamental Analysis Q1 FY27 highlights: Parameter Q1 FY27 AUM ₹5,46,944 Cr AUM Growth 24% YoY PAT ₹6,081 Cr PAT Growth 28% YoY Overall performance Strong The important point is that growth is still healthy despite the company's already-large base. Q1 FY27 was described as strong across key operating metrics. Fundamental view: 🟢 Positive However, at current valuations, the market is already pricing in substantial future growth. So for a fresh entry, price and valuation both matter, not just business quality.

Nifty Pre-Open: Range Holds Between 24,100 and 24,287

As anticipated, bulls failed to sustain above the falling window resistance at 24,287 — sellers defended the level and pushed the index lower through the session. The index tested the flagged support near 24,130, making a low of 24,144 before a late recovery brought the close to 24,219, up 0.15%. RSI settled at 52.97, right at the midpoint, reflecting the indecision in this range-bound move. The range remains unchanged: 24,287 (falling window resistance) and 24,320 (falling channel upper line) are the levels that matter on the upside — a sustained 30-min close above both would confirm the channel breakout and open the path toward 24,400+. On the downside, 24,130 has been tested and held, with 24,100–24,080 as the next support cluster and 24,010 as the critical floor below that. Until a breakout above 24,320 is confirmed, this stays a range to trade rather than a trend to chase — every recovery toward 24,287 remains a potential selling zone, and every dip toward 24,100–24,130 a buying zone.

BAJFINANCE
e is showing sharp range compression on the 30-min chart, with parallel channel between 1,110–1,070. A breakout above 1,110 or breakdown below 1,070 looks imminent given how tight this range has gotten — worth watching closely for the resolution either way. When a flagged resistance and support both hold precisely as expected in the same session, it reinforces that the range is genuine rather than random — patience for a confirmed breakout matters more than reacting to every test of either boundary. Nifty Outlook for 25-Aug-2026 looks to be range bound

The overall trend of Nifty looks to be in a range, and thus the markets might move either side. We may expect a change in trend only if the price sustains below the support level or above the resistance level. I have provided Nifty Spot resistance and support levels which would help you learn in taking informed trading decisions using these levels and understand how support and resistance levels work in financial markets. buy on dips strategy to be adopted at green DZ

BAJFINANCE
Bajaj Finance is one of India's largest diversified NBFCs, with businesses spanning consumer finance, personal loans, SME finance, commercial lending, mortgages and other financial services. The key strength of the business is its large customer base + diversified lending portfolio + strong digital distribution. 2. Fundamental Analysis Q1 FY27 was very strong Parameter Q1 FY27 YoY Consolidated PAT ₹5,986 Cr +27.4% NII ₹12,571 Cr +22.9% Consolidated AUM ₹5.47 lakh Cr +23.9% New loans 1.61 Cr +19.6% ROA 4.7% Improved ROE 20.4% Improved Standalone performance was equally impressive: PAT increased about 29%, NII increased 24%, and standalone AUM crossed ₹4 lakh crore. Asset quality This is particularly important for an NBFC. Consolidated: Gross NPA: 0.96% Net NPA: 0.39% Both improved YoY. Capital adequacy ratio: 20.90% So fundamentally, asset quality is currently not giving a major warning signal.
