Manali Petrochemicals Ltd – Company Analysis

MANALIPETC
Manali Petrochemicals Ltd is a niche chemical manufacturer operating in the polyurethane value chain, producing Propylene Glycol, Polyether Polyols and related chemicals used across automotive, construction, refrigeration, footwear, pharmaceuticals, paints and other industrial applications. The company has a differentiated position in India as the sole domestic producer of Propylene Glycol and the first and largest Indian manufacturer of Propylene Oxide. FY26 showed a meaningful recovery in profitability despite relatively modest revenue growth. Consolidated revenue from operations was approximately ₹897 crore, compared with ₹840 crore in FY25, while the company benefited from improved margins during the year. The March 2026 quarter generated revenue of about ₹299 crore and net profit of ₹29 crore, with Q4 profit rising sharply year-on-year. More importantly, Q1 FY27 has shown an even stronger improvement: revenue was ₹288.5 crore and net profit reached ₹64.4 crore, more than four times the ₹14.3 crore reported in Q1 FY26. EBITDA increased to ₹96.6 crore, resulting in a very strong 35.2% operating margin. The recent earnings improvement is encouraging, but it should not be treated as a permanent structural margin reset yet. Manali Petrochemicals has historically experienced substantial earnings volatility, with three-year revenue CAGR of around -18% and profit CAGR of around -57% according to Groww. The company also temporarily shut Plant 1 for scheduled maintenance in June 2026, although operations subsequently resumed. Looking ahead, import substitution, polyurethane demand and better utilization can support growth, but investors should closely monitor chemical spreads, raw-material prices, plant utilization and whether the exceptional Q1 profitability can be sustained.
