Seshasayee Paper and Boards Ltd Company Analysis

SESHAPAPER
Seshasayee Paper and Boards is an integrated paper manufacturer producing printing and writing paper, speciality grades and paperboard products. Its operations benefit from established manufacturing facilities, customer relationships and demand from publishing, education, packaging and commercial printing. The company operates primarily in the paper segment and is also pursuing the revival of assets acquired from Servalakshmi Paper, which could provide additional capacity over time. However, the success of this expansion will depend on refurbishment costs, operating efficiency and market demand. FY26 consolidated revenue from operations declined 2.5% to approximately ₹1,710 crore, while net profit fell 24.4% to ₹82.5 crore, reflecting pressure on profitability. The latest Q2 FY27 results showed a strong recovery: consolidated revenue rose 45.3% YoY to ₹503.1 crore, while net profit increased 88.8% to ₹42.3 crore. EBITDA reached ₹55.8 crore in the latest quarter, compared with ₹34.9 crore in Q2 FY26, indicating improved operating performance. For H1 FY27, consolidated revenue was approximately ₹995 crore and net profit ₹74.2 crore, nearly double the ₹37.8 crore reported in the corresponding period last year. At approximately ₹210 in recent market data, Seshasayee Paper and Boards had a market capitalisation of around ₹1,325 crore, P/E of 13.4x and P/B of 0.6x. Its relatively modest valuation and recent earnings recovery are positives, while the low price-to-book ratio may also reflect the cyclical nature of the paper industry and uncertainty around future returns. Overall, the latest quarter indicates improving sales and profitability after a weaker FY26, but sustaining margins and converting expansion spending into productive capacity will be important to the company's longer-term performance.
