Xpro India Ltd is a specialized polymer-processing company with two key businesses: Coex and Dielectric Films. The Coex division manufactures coextruded sheets and thermoformed liners used mainly by refrigerator and white-goods manufacturers, while the Dielectric Films division produces premium BOPP films used in electrical capacitors.
FY26 was a mixed year. Standalone revenue declined 5.6% to ₹505.5 crore and PAT fell 30.3% to ₹30.5 crore, reflecting softness in end markets and product mix. However, Q4 showed a meaningful recovery in profitability: revenue declined 15.1% year-on-year to ₹134.4 crore, but EBITDA increased 5.9% to ₹14.3 crore and PAT rose 25.2% to ₹11.6 crore. Q1 FY27 brought a stronger topline recovery, with consolidated revenue increasing 20.4% year-on-year to ₹174.4 crore and EBITDA jumping sharply from ₹0.9 crore to ₹19.8 crore. Net profit reached ₹7.6–7.9 crore versus a loss in the corresponding period last year, although sequentially profit declined from Q4 levels.
The investment case depends heavily on whether the new capacity and UAE expansion can translate into sustained volume and margin growth. The Barjora expansion provides substantial additional capacity in the higher-value dielectric-film business, while recovery in white goods could support the Coex division. However, three-year revenue CAGR is only around 1% and three-year profit CAGR is negative, highlighting the company's inconsistent historical growth. Investors should monitor capacity utilization, product margins, customer concentration, raw-material prices and the execution of the UAE project. Overall, Xpro India is an interesting niche manufacturing business with differentiated technology and improving near-term operating momentum, but it needs sustained earnings growth from the expanded capacity before it can be considered a proven long-term compounder.#WatchOutFor#StockInNews#EquityResearch#HiddenGems#Post-ClosingCommentary
