Satin Creditcare Network Ltd Company Analysis

SATIN Satin Creditcare Network Ltd is a non-banking financial company (NBFC) specialising in microfinance, providing small loans primarily to women entrepreneurs and lower-income households. It also operates in areas such as MSME lending and business correspondent services. The company benefits from demand for financial inclusion and small-ticket credit, while its expanding non-microfinance portfolio offers some diversification. The latest Q2 FY27 results, announced on 28 October 2026, show a substantial improvement in profitability. Consolidated total income rose to approximately ₹929 crore, from ₹785 crore in Q2 FY26, while net profit increased to ₹175.9 crore from ₹53.2 crore, a rise of more than 230%. For H1 FY27, consolidated net profit reached approximately ₹298.6 crore, compared with ₹98.3 crore in the same period last year. Pre-provision operating profit for Q2 grew 53% year-on-year to ₹324 crore. These results suggest a strong recovery in earnings, although investors should check how much of the improvement is sustainable as credit costs and provisioning normalise. At the latest available market snapshot on 28 October 2026, the share price was approximately ₹228, with a market capitalisation of around ₹2,513 crore, a P/E ratio of about 5x and a price-to-book ratio of approximately 0.73x. These valuations look inexpensive relative to the latest earnings, but microfinance lenders can appear particularly cheap during periods of recovering profitability. Risks include borrower defaults, rural income volatility, regulatory changes, rising funding costs and the company’s dependence on borrowed capital. However, the company has also maintained an additional ₹50 crore management overlay as a buffer against uncertainty. Overall, Satin Creditcare shows strong earnings recovery, expanding AUM and improving asset quality, but sustained collections and disciplined credit costs will be critical to maintaining this performance.
