Windlas Biotech Ltd Company Fundamental Analysis
WINDLAS Windlas Biotech Ltd is an Indian pharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO). It manufactures pharmaceutical formulations for other pharma companies, rather than depending only on its own branded medicines. Its services cover product development, manufacturing, licensing and commercial supply of generic formulations, including complex generics. It is among the larger domestic formulation CDMO players in India. Q2 FY27 performance: Revenue from operations grew 18.7% YoY to ₹263.9 crore. However, EBITDA increased only 3.2% to ₹33.23 crore, while net profit rose just 1.4% to ₹18.05 crore. Operating margin declined to 11.13% from 12.84% in the corresponding quarter last year. This indicates that operating costs are growing faster than sales, limiting the benefit of revenue growth. At around ₹994 per share (6 November 2026), Windlas had a market capitalisation of approximately ₹2,050 crore and a P/E of around 29–31x. ROE is approximately 12.2%, ROCE around 15.8%, and debt-to-equity approximately 0.05–0.06. The company is almost debt-free, which is a positive. However, its return ratios are moderate rather than exceptional, and the valuation is not particularly cheap when considered alongside the recent slowdown in reported profit growth. Overall view: Windlas has a promising CDMO business model, a relatively low-debt balance sheet and a track record of revenue expansion. The main concern is profitability: Q2 revenue grew nearly 19%, but reported net profit barely grew. I would monitor margin recovery, capacity utilisation, new customer additions and cash-flow generation. The business has potential, but at roughly 30x earnings, consistent profit growth and better return ratios are needed to justify the valuation.
