Jubilant FoodWorks reports 43% decline in Q2 profit

JUBLINGREA Jubilant FoodWorks Limited reported Q2 FY27 revenue of approximately ₹2,608 crore, up 11.4% year on year. Net profit declined 42.7% to approximately ₹111.59 crore. The gap between revenue and profit growth deserves attention. What I am watching: - Like-for-like sales growth - Order volumes and average order value - Delivery and discounting costs - Store expansion - Operating margins My analysis: Revenue growth indicates that the business is expanding, but the decline in profit suggests that costs and operating margins need closer examination. Store additions alone do not guarantee stronger returns. Existing-store performance and delivery economics will be important. Next trigger: Same-store sales growth and margin recovery. My stance: Cautious until profitability improves alongside revenue. Learning outcome: Restaurant businesses should be evaluated through same-store sales, order economics and operating margins rather than store count alone.
