Ashoka Buildcon Q2 revenue falls 18.69% to ₹1,505 crore

Ashoka Buildcon Limited (NSE: ASHOKA) ASHOKA reported Q2 revenue of ₹1,505 crore, down about 18.69% from ₹1,851 crore in the same quarter last year. That is a fall of ₹346 crore in the top line year on year. Why it matters: for a road and engineering contractor, revenue follows how much work gets billed on live projects. A drop of this size means less work was executed or recognised in the quarter. The data does not say which. My view: the reason for the decline is not stated in the numbers I have. Monsoon months often slow site work in this sector, and project completions can also reduce billing. Either could explain part of it, but I cannot confirm that from a revenue figure alone. I also have no profit or margin data, so I cannot say whether profitability held up. With revenue down 18.69%, I stay cautious until order book and execution data show a recovery. What I am watching: Q2 earnings call on November 6, 2026, for comments on execution pace, order book and margins. After that, order inflow and execution through the second half of FY27, over the next 0 to 3 months. The main risks are delays in large contracts and cash stuck in longer receivable cycles.
