Castrol India Q2 2026 revenue up 25% to ₹1,871 crore
Castrol India Limited (NSE: CASTROLIND)
CASTROLIND
reported Q2 2026 revenue from operations of ₹1,871 crore, up 25% YoY. Profit after tax rose 43% to ₹348 crore.
The board also declared an interim dividend of ₹6.25 per share on a ₹5 face value. Results came out in August 2026.
What happened: Revenue was ₹1,497 crore a year ago, so sales grew about ₹374 crore. PAT was ₹244 crore in Q2 2025, so profit grew about ₹104 crore. The YoY percentages are my own calculation.
Why it matters: Profit grew faster than sales. PAT margin moved from about 16.3% to 18.6%. Roughly 28 paise of every extra rupee of revenue reached PAT. That suggests pricing and cost control held up, not just higher volumes.
My view: One strong quarter of margin is only half the story. Lubricant makers buy base oil, which tracks crude, so a margin gain can fade if input costs rise. The data I have gives no volume split, so I cannot say how much of the 25% is price and how much is volume. I read this as a strong result, but not yet proof of a lasting margin step-up. The ₹6.25 dividend, 125% of face value, adds some support.
What I am watching: Base oil and crude trends, and whether PAT margin holds above 18% in the next quarterly result.
