Jain Resource Recycling backs unit with ₹150 crore guarantee

Jain Resource Recycling Limited (NSE: JAINREC)

JAINREC
has issued a corporate guarantee of ₹150 crore to back credit and debt facilities of its subsidiary, Jain Green Technologies Private Limited. The parent owns 99.99% of the subsidiary, so the support stays inside the group and funds its copper expansion. What happened: Jain Green Technologies has commissioned 1,600 MT per month of copper anode capacity at Unit 3, in Q1 FY27. This guarantee backs its debt facilities. In July 2026, the parent also issued a ₹50 crore guarantee for its joint venture, Jain CY Circular Solutions. The two guarantees add up to ₹200 crore. Why it matters: A parent guarantee usually helps a subsidiary raise bank credit on better terms. The borrowing sits in the subsidiary, not on the parent’s balance sheet. But the ₹150 crore is now a contingent liability for the parent. If the subsidiary cannot service the loans, the parent has to pay. My view: The capacity is already commissioned, so this debt supports the ramp-up of an existing asset, not a build from zero. That lowers execution risk. The main risk is margins. Scrap metal prices are volatile, and a squeeze in the spread would hit the cash flows that service this debt. I don’t have the subsidiary’s own financials, so I can’t judge its debt cover. For now, I see this as a positive for growth visibility, held back by the rising guarantee exposure. What I am watching: Utilization of the 1,600 MT per month anode capacity, Phase-1 copper cathode commissioning, any further guarantees to group entities, and the movement in scrap prices.
