reported Q2 consolidated revenue of ₹2,178 crore. That is up 35.02% from ₹1,613 crore in the same quarter last year.
What happened: Revenue rose by ₹565 crore year on year. The growth came from the company’s digital insurance and credit marketplace channels.
Why it matters: A 35.02% rise shows more customers are buying insurance and credit products online. It also gives some support to sector sentiment after recent volatility.
My view: Revenue alone does not decide the stock. Profit retention does. Two things can squeeze it. First, IRDAI issued a consultation paper in September 2026 on insurance distribution rules and commission limits. If commission caps are finalised, intermediary margins take the hit directly. Second, customer acquisition costs in digital marketing keep rising. So the revenue jump is good news only if profit grows at a similar pace. The data here does not show that yet.
What I am watching: The final IRDAI guidelines on commission caps, the sequential profit margin in the next results, and renewal trail revenue in health and life.
