Sun TV Network declares ₹3.75 interim dividend per share

Sun TV Network Limited (NSE: SUNTV)

SUNTV
declared a second interim dividend of ₹3.75 per equity share for FY 2026-27 after its board meeting on October 30, 2026. The record date is November 5, 2026. What happened: The ₹3.75 payout is 75% of the ₹5 face value. It follows the first interim dividend of ₹5.00 per share declared on August 12, 2026. Together, that is ₹8.75 per share declared so far this financial year. Shareholders on record on November 5 are eligible, with payment within 30 days. Why it matters: Two payouts in under three months show a steady cash return habit. Income-focused holders get visibility on what they can expect. My view: A dividend moves cash from the company to shareholders. It does not add value by itself. The share price normally drops by about the dividend amount on the ex-date, so the gain is in the cash received, not in a price jump. What the payouts do tell us is that cash flow from broadcasting and subscriptions is comfortable enough to fund them. The risk sits in the base business. Regional TV ad spend in South India can swing, and viewers keep moving toward OTT platforms. If either weakens revenue, the payout pace could slow. What I am watching: The exchange-confirmed ex-date near November 5, regional ad spend trends, and whether a third interim dividend follows.
