While frontline indices remained under pressure, broader markets showed resilience with the Nifty MidCap and SmallCap indices outperforming. Tuesday, July 21, 2026: Domestic benchmark indices traded with modest losses in a range-bound session as lingering US-Iran geopolitical tensions continued to dampen market sentiment. The Nifty50 was down 67 points (0.28%) at 24,171.50, while the Sensex declined 242.37 points (0.31%) to 77,466.15. Among the Nifty50 constituents, $INFY s, $HDFCBANK , and $MAXHEALTH Institute emerged as the top laggards. The broader market displayed relative strength, with the Nifty MidCap gaining 0.09% and the Nifty SmallCap advancing 0.26%. On the sectoral front, the Nifty Cement index outperformed with a gain of around 1%, while Nifty IT and Nifty Auto were among the weakest-performing sectors.
