JSW Steel Ltd. Q2 RESULTS PROFIT ZOOMS 225%

JSWSTEEL
JSW Steel, India’s largest steelmaker by capacity, reported a 225.3% year-on-year surge in consolidated net profit for the September quarter, supported by record steel sales and firm flat steel prices. The strong performance came despite elevated coking coal costs. The Mumbai-based company had reported a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 1,623 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Revenue from operations rose 10.7% in Q2. Total income increased to Rs 54,927 crore from Rs 45,436 crore in the year-ago period. The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation climbed 42.2% year-on-year, up from Rs 7,115 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. EBITDA also grew 6% sequentially, driven by higher sales volumes, partly offset by elevated coking coal prices and lower realisations. Domestic sales rose 12% year-on-year and 18% quarter-on-quarter to a record 6.29 million tonnes. Institutional sales volumes increased 15% year-on-year to 4.15 MT. The automotive segment delivered a strong performance, with sales reaching a record high, up 36% year-on-year. Exports stood at 0.98 MT, accounting for 13% of sales from the company’s India operations during Q2FY27. On the debt front, JSW Steel reported net debt of Rs 44,482 crore as of September 2026, marking a reduction of Rs 1,675 crore compared with June 2026.
