Aster DM Quality Care Q2 Profit More Than Doubles
ASTERDM reported a strong Q2 FY27 performance, with its profit attributable to shareholders rising to ₹262 crore. The company’s consolidated revenue from operations stood at ₹2,829 crore, while total consolidated profit reached ₹322.4 crore for the quarter ended September 2026. The company reported consolidated EBITDA of ₹664 crore, up 165.6% year-on-year, while EBITDA margin improved to 23.5% from 20.9%, reflecting stronger operating profitability. The headline growth was supported by the amalgamation of Quality Care India Limited, which became effective from July 1, 2026. The merger has significantly expanded the group’s hospital network and operating scale. However, the reported year-on-year financial figures are not directly comparable with the previous year, as the acquired Quality Care India business was consolidated only from the current quarter. This distinction is important when assessing the sustainability of growth. Aster’s enlarged healthcare platform offers opportunities through hospital expansion, operational synergies, improved patient volumes and a broader geographical presence. Investors should continue to monitor integration progress, margins, occupancy levels, cash generation and capital expenditure as the merged business moves forward. While the headline profit increase is notable, the underlying performance of the legacy Aster business and the acquired Quality Care network will be important in evaluating future earnings momentum. Learning Takeaway: When a company reports a sharp increase in revenue and profit following a merger, investors should separate inorganic growth from organic performance. Comparability of financial statements, integration synergies, margin trends and cash flows are essential to understand the true quality of earnings.
