SKIPPER
reported a strong improvement in profitability for Q2 FY27, with net profit rising approximately 57% year-on-year to ₹58 crore. The performance is relevant given the company's exposure to India's power transmission and distribution infrastructure, where demand is supported by grid expansion, renewable energy integration and rising electricity requirements.
Skipper operates across three major business segments: engineering products, infrastructure projects and polymer products. Its engineering portfolio includes transmission towers, telecom structures, railway structures and solar structures, while its EPC business executes power transmission and distribution projects. Engineering products contributed around 79% of FY26 revenue, infrastructure projects 12% and polymer products 9%.
The company entered FY27 with a strong operating base. In Q1 FY27, revenue stood at ₹1,309.8 crore, up 4.5% year-on-year, while EBITDA increased 10.2% to ₹140.1 crore, with margins improving to 10.7%. Its order book reached a record ₹9,216.6 crore as of June 2026, supported by order inflows of ₹1,674.4 crore during the quarter.
From a research perspective, the Q2 profit growth is encouraging, but investors should evaluate it alongside revenue growth, EBITDA margins and order execution. The key factors to monitor are fresh order inflows, working-capital requirements, raw-material prices, debt levels and timely project completion.
Learning Takeaway: For infrastructure and engineering companies, profit growth becomes more meaningful when supported by a healthy order book, execution capability, margin expansion and cash-flow generation. Investors should track all four rather than relying only on quarterly PAT growth.
