the maker of Kingfisher and Heineken beer brands in India, reported a strong Q2 FY27 performance, with consolidated net profit rising 190.9% year-on-year to ₹134.81 crore from ₹46.34 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations increased 23.7% to ₹4,623 crore from ₹3,737.31 crore.
Operating performance improved significantly, with EBITDA more than doubling year-on-year. The EBITDA margin expanded by 480 basis points, supported by stronger volumes, premiumisation and cost-efficiency initiatives. The company also reported a 24% increase in net sales, reflecting favourable pricing and product mix.
Volume growth was a key highlight. Sales to distributors increased 16%, while premium beer volumes surged 38%. Heineken Silver volumes grew 67% and Kingfisher Ultra volumes increased 44%, demonstrating stronger demand for higher-value products.
The company attributed its performance to disciplined revenue management, improved operating mix and structural margin-recovery initiatives. It is also expanding production capabilities, including new canning lines, to support future demand.
From a research perspective, the combination of volume growth and premiumisation is encouraging because higher-value products can support profitability. However, investors should monitor state-level regulations, taxation, input costs, distribution expansion and the sustainability of margin improvement.
Learning Takeaway: Premiumisation can improve both revenue and profitability, but investors should verify whether growth is driven by actual volume expansion, better product mix or price increases. Sustainable performance requires a balance of all three.
