Block Deals Spotlight: PhysicsWallah and Rubicon

Shares of PhysicsWallah surged as much as 5% on Wednesday after nearly 4.67 crore shares, representing around 1.6% of the company’s equity, changed hands in multiple block deals valued at approximately Rs 550 crore. The transactions were executed at Rs 117.72 per share, a roughly 3% discount to the previous close of Rs 121. Despite the discounted price, the stock climbed sharply in early trade, touching an intraday high near Rs 127-128. Buyers and sellers in the deals have not been disclosed. As of the end of the June quarter, promoter entities held about 71% stake, with public shareholders owning the remaining 29%. The activity comes amid a strong recovery for the edtech stock, which has risen over 40-60% from its March 2026 low of Rs 77.72. Promoters hold majority stakes in both firms—about 71% in PhysicsWallah and around 60% in Rubicon.
