LIC Q3 FY26 Results: Net Profit Up 17% YoY, Shares Surge 8% to 11-Week High
!Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) reported strong Q3 FY26 results on February 5, 2026, driving its shares up sharply in trading the next day.
The state-owned insurer posted a consolidated net profit of ₹12,930 crore for the October-December quarter, marking a 17% year-on-year increase from ₹11,008.65 crore in Q3 FY25.
Net premium income grew over 17% YoY to ₹1,25,988 crore, reflecting robust business momentum.
Asset quality and solvency strengthened further:
Solvency ratio improved to 2.19 from 2.02 in Q3 FY25.
Gross NPA ratio for policyholders’ fund eased to 1.31% in Q3 FY26 (from 1.34% in Q2 FY26 and 1.64% in Q3 FY25).
In response, !LIC shares jumped around 8% to hit an 11-week high of ₹905 (closing near ₹902 on February 6), underscoring investor confidence in the insurer's improving profitability and balance sheet.
Meanwhile, Kaynes Technology shares tumbled nearly 8% to ₹3,337 amid profit misses in its own Q3 results, extending losses for the second consecutive day.
LIC's performance highlights solid growth in premiums, better margins, and enhanced financial health in a competitive insurance landscape.
