NTPC Green Energy Adds 6.3 MW Wind Capacity

NTPCGREEN
has announced the commercial operation of 6.3 MW capacity at the Vanki Wind Energy Project in Gujarat, marking another step in the company’s ongoing expansion of its renewable energy portfolio. With this commissioning, the company’s total installed capacity has increased to 10,842.86 MW, strengthening its position as a major renewable energy platform within the NTPC Group. The addition of wind capacity in Gujarat is strategically significant, given the state’s strong renewable energy potential and established infrastructure for wind and hybrid power projects. The commissioning also highlights NTPC Green Energy’s focus on steadily adding operational renewable assets while supporting India’s broader transition toward cleaner sources of electricity. Increased installed capacity can enhance the company’s renewable generation base and provide greater scale for future growth across wind, solar and other clean-energy segments. The development is also aligned with the NTPC Group’s long-term objective of expanding its clean-energy footprint and reducing dependence on conventional power generation. As renewable capacity additions continue, NTPC Green Energy could benefit from growing demand for green electricity, corporate renewable procurement and India’s accelerating energy-transition investments.
