Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Ltd.'s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical has secured a significant "large" order in the Middle East, valued between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore, for vital grid infrastructure projects. This mandate encompasses key strategic initiatives to enhance regional power connectivity and resilience. A major component is the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 400 kV substation in the UAE. This infrastructure is critical as it will facilitate a direct 400 kV interconnection to the GCC's super grid, which links member states' electricity networks, thereby optimizing generation capacity and improving overall grid robustness. Currently, Oman's grid links through the UAE's 220 kV network. Furthermore, L&T has been awarded contracts for constructing multiple new 132 kV substations across the Middle East to address rising regional electricity demand. In Saudi Arabia, the company secured a turnkey order for 380 kV overhead transmission lines, a project vital for the integration of renewable energy power plants into the national grid. These wins underscore L&T PT&D's strong market position and technical expertise in executing complex, high-voltage infrastructure projects, reinforcing the firm's contribution to modernizing the Middle Eastern power sector. This order inflow provides a robust addition to the company's order book.
