Hindalco Q2 PAT surges 59% to ₹7,532 Crore

HINDALCO Hindalco Industries Limited (HINDALCO) reported Q2FY27 consolidated net profit of ₹7,532 Cr, up 58.87% YoY and 7.40% QoQ. Revenue rose 38.83% to ₹91,708 Cr from the year-ago period and was up 8.11% QoQ EBITDA stood at ₹12,814 Cr, up 42.92% YoY but down 8.03% QoQ. EBITDA margin expanded to 13.97% from 13.57% YoY, though it contracted from 16.42% in the previous quarter. Strong performance was driven by the aluminium upstream business, record copper EBITDA, and improved contribution from Novelis. The results reflect higher metal prices and solid operational performance across segments The key triggers are the 59% YoY jump in PAT to ₹7,532 Cr and 39% revenue growth to ₹91,708 Cr, supported by aluminium and copper strength. This marks a robust quarterly performance for the integrated metals major. Peers such as National Aluminium Company, Vedanta and Hindustan Zinc may face comparison on metal price leverage and quarterly earnings growth. Near-term prices could react positively to the strong profit and revenue beat. Risks include a decline in LME prices, cost inflation, or slower Novelis ramp-up.
