AstraZeneca Pharma India Expands Breast Cancer Treatment Portfolio with Fresh CDSCO Approval

AstraZeneca Pharma India has received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) to import and distribute Trastuzumab Deruxtecan (Enhertu) 100mg/5ml lyophilized powder for concentrate for solution for infusion for an additional indication in breast cancer treatment, further expanding its oncology portfolio in India. This follows the approval granted in June, which allowed Enhertu, in combination with pertuzumab, to be used as a first-line treatment for adult patients with unresectable or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer. Enhertu is an antibody-drug conjugate designed to treat specific HER2-expressing cancers, and the latest approval broadens its approved use in the Indian market, subject to applicable statutory requirements. On the financial front, AstraZeneca Pharma India reported mixed Q4 performance, with net profit declining 23% year-on-year to ₹44.8 crore from ₹58.2 crore, while revenue increased 20.4% to ₹578.6 crore from ₹480.4 crore. EBITDA fell 29.4% to ₹60.9 crore from ₹86.2 crore, and the EBITDA margin narrowed to 10.5% from 17.9% in the corresponding period last year.
