Bharat Electronics bags ₹909 crore in new orders

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured additional orders worth ₹909 crore since October 21, 2026, taking its order book further higher. The latest orders cover stabilised optronic pedestals, communication equipment, navigation systems, night vision devices, software solutions, components, upgrades, spares and related services. The company has not disclosed a category-wise breakup of the order value. BEL's order book stood at ₹68,717 crore as of October 1, 2026. The fresh orders add to its revenue visibility, particularly across defence electronics and technology-led systems. This comes alongside strong operating performance in Q2 FY27. Standalone revenue rose 26.5% year-on-year to ₹7,291 crore, while net profit increased 19.8% to ₹1,541 crore. EBITDA grew 20.4% to ₹2,040 crore. However, EBITDA margin declined 140 basis points to 28% from 29.4% a year ago. For H1 FY27, revenue increased 25.97% to ₹12,824 crore, while net profit grew 14.81% to ₹2,589 crore. My view: The ₹909 crore order inflow supports BEL's growth visibility, but the larger picture is its ability to convert a sizeable order book into consistent revenue and earnings growth. The difference between revenue growth of 26.5% and profit growth of 19.8%, along with margin contraction, deserves attention. I would track execution timelines, fresh order inflows and margin stability over the coming quarters rather than focus only on headline order wins. BEL shares closed at ₹396 on the NSE, down 0.23%. I remain positive on the company's long-term business prospects, but would watch earnings execution and margin trends before taking a more aggressive view on the stock.
