Granules India Limited receives 11 USFDA observations
Granules India Limited received 11 observations following a USFDA inspection of its Gagillapur facility in Hyderabad.
The company confirmed no data integrity or cross-contamination findings, with manufacturing and distribution unaffected.
The inspection was conducted from October 19 to October 30, 2026, marking the first inspection since the warning letter issued on February 26, 2025. The observations relate to investigations, change control, equipment qualification, visual inspection and documentation.
My view: The absence of data integrity concerns and operational disruption is encouraging. However, given the facility's previous warning letter, the company's corrective actions and the USFDA's response will be key to assessing regulatory risk. Granules India plans to submit its response within 15 business days.
Separately, the company incorporated a wholly owned pharmaceutical subsidiary in Brazil to expand its presence in the market.
Stance: Monitor regulatory updates before drawing firm conclusions on the facility's compliance outlook.
