Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd targets 70% capacity expansion

Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited plans to expand manufacturing capacity by 70% to 240 million litres by March 2027, while targeting growth in EV charging and data-centre cooling. The strategy combines core lubricants growth with new revenue opportunities. The company is expanding its EV charging capabilities through affiliates Tirex, Indra Renewables and ElectreeFi. It also has partnerships with over 50 original equipment manufacturers and a global R&D hub in Chennai. My view: The expansion creates room for growth, but higher capacity does not guarantee higher profits. The key questions are whether demand keeps pace with production and whether newer businesses can deliver meaningful revenue and margins. The stock closed at ₹1,056.80, down 1.57% on the day. It has fallen 4.43% over the past month and 13.08% year to date. What I’m watching: Capacity utilisation, margin trends and progress in EV charging and cooling technologies ahead of the March 2027 target. My stance: Wait for evidence of profitable growth before turning bullish.
