SEPC Ltd witnessed strong market interest, with its shares rising over 7% to ₹6.37 after securing a major contract worth ₹854.57 crore from Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) for its IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur. The order involves executing the Pellet Plant Balance of Plant (BOP), including civil and structural works under the 4.08 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) crude steel expansion project.
The contract, valued at ₹854.57 crore (net of input tax credit), is scheduled to be completed within 32 months, with the effective date being either the contract signing date or 30 days from the Letter of Acceptance, whichever is earlier. As part of the agreement, SEPC will furnish a performance bank guarantee of approximately ₹47.58 crore within 30 days of signing the contract.
The project will be executed in line with SAIL's tender issued on October 10, 2025, along with the corrigendum dated November 25, 2025, and the agreed commercial and technical terms. The company also clarified that the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and that neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in the awarding entity.
The order represents a significant addition to SEPC's order book and reinforces its execution capabilities in large-scale industrial infrastructure projects.
