TCS Q2 results on October 8 with stock near 52-week low

Tata Consultancy Services Limited

TCS
will report Q2 FY27 results after market hours on October 8, 2026, and consider a second interim dividend with a record date of October 14. The stock closed near ₹2,070 on October 1, about 5% above its 52-week low of ₹1,976.80. What happened: The stock is about 38% below its 52-week high of ₹3,350. It trades below its 50-day average of ₹2,222.50 and 200-day average of ₹2,493.80. The first interim dividend this year was ₹12 per share. Q1 FY27 profit was ₹13,349 crore on revenue of ₹73,843 crore, down 2.7% from the previous quarter. Why it matters: TCS reports first among large IT firms. HCLTech follows on October 12 and Infosys on October 23. My view: Reported profit is the wrong number to focus on. One report says Q1 included an exceptional legal settlement of ₹668 crore. If Q2 has no such item, profit could rise even with flat operations, and that would flatter the print. I would look at constant-currency growth and operating margin instead. At about 15 times earnings, the stock already prices in slow growth. A margin slip below Q1 would be the real negative. A surprise on deal wins is the risk to a neutral view. What I am watching: The October 8 print for constant-currency growth and operating margin. The dividend amount. Price: ₹1,976.80 support and ₹2,222.50 resistance. Stance: Neutral. A close above ₹2,222.50 after results would turn me positive. A close below ₹1,976.80 makes me cautious. I do not hold a position in Tata Consultancy Services Limited.] Not investment advice.
