SWSOLAR
has secured renewable-energy orders worth more than ₹985 crore across India and South Africa.
The company has received a Balance of System package for a 534.3 MWp solar project in Rajasthan from an independent power producer. It has also secured turnkey EPC contracts for two Battery Energy Storage System projects in South Africa with a combined capacity of 616 MWh. The total value of the orders exceeds ₹985 crore, including taxes.
The order mix is important because it covers both conventional utility-scale solar infrastructure and battery storage. The South African BESS projects are particularly relevant to the company's move into energy-storage EPC work, while the Rajasthan project adds to its domestic solar execution pipeline.
My view is that the order value needs to be considered alongside execution requirements. Large EPC contracts can increase revenue visibility, but working-capital requirements, project timelines and margins will determine how much of the order value reaches the bottom line.
I will watch execution of the Rajasthan project, commissioning timelines for the BESS projects and EPC margins.
Stance: Tracking the order-book addition through execution and margin performance.
