Transformers and Rectifiers plans massive Gujarat capex.
Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited announced a ₹1,250 crore investment for three greenfield plants in Gujarat. The upcoming units at the Chiyada complex will manufacture high-voltage transformer components to support local power transmission grids. Body Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited disclosed its backward integration expansion blueprints on October 27, 2026. The corporate investment will target the localized production of high-voltage bushings up to 800 kilovolts. The new industrial units will also manufacture specialized pressboard insulation materials and continuously transposed conductors. A wholly owned consolidated ancillary subsidiary will house the entire asset footprint of the three plants. This architecture gives the parent company absolute operational oversight over manufacturing quality protocols and long-term technology supply chains. Construction operations initiated in December 2025, and commercial production will commence in the first quarter of financial year 2028. The industrial facility will create more than 1,000 direct technical engineering employment positions once fully operational. Management expects the localized capacity to yield an annual revenue potential of approximately ₹2,000 crore at optimum asset utilization levels. The manufacturing pivot reduces heavy corporate import dependency for critical components. My reasoning focuses on margin optimization and supply security. Localizing high-voltage bushing assembly shields the company against extended global logistics lead times. The investment positions the firm to capitalize on multi-year renewable energy grid integration outlays. The forward execution capacity accelerates project dispatch timelines, boosting overall capital efficiency ratios. I am watching the quarterly construction milestone updates for the Chiyada manufacturing complex. Close My stance is positive on the long-term structural value creation of this power equipment player.
