L&T wins ₹10,000–15,000 crore power orders
Larsen & Toubro Limited (NSE: LT) has secured multiple Power Transmission & Distribution EPC orders across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and India.
The company has classified the combined order value as “Mega”, which for L&T means ₹10,000 crore to ₹15,000 crore.
Key details
• In Saudi Arabia, L&T won 380 kV transmission and substation orders.
• In the UAE, it secured a 132/11 kV substation and associated cabling project.
• In India, L&T won an order from a private developer for transmission lines and substations in Visakhapatnam.
• The projects are linked to grid expansion, transmission strengthening and renewable energy evacuation.
My view
The size of the order is significant, but the geographic mix is equally important. L&T is adding large transmission projects across India and the Middle East, where grid investments are rising alongside renewable-energy capacity.
The key point is that this is not one isolated contract. It adds to a large existing execution pipeline and gives the PT&D business multi-year visibility.
What I’m watching next
I will watch the execution schedule, margin performance in the PT&D segment and whether L&T continues to win large grid and renewable-evacuation projects internationally.
Stance: Positive on order visibility and geographic diversification. Execution and margin conversion remain the key factors.
Disclosure: I do not have any holding or position in the stock mentioned above.
