JK Cement Q2 profit rises 7.8%, trend stays bearish

JK Cement Limited reported a 7.8% rise in Q2 net profit to Rs 173 crore on 23.7% revenue growth. The stock is below its 200-day SMA, with support at Rs 4,920. JK Cement Limited [

JKCEMENT
] reported a 7.8% rise in consolidated Q2 net profit to Rs 173 crore, while revenue grew 23.7% year on year. Its paints arm plans to invest Rs 130 crore in a manufacturing plant in Telangana. Revenue grew about three times faster than profit, which points to narrower margins on higher sales. The update gives no margin data, so the quality of the growth cannot be judged. The paints investment adds to capital spending, and its benefit depends on how the business scales. On the chart, the stock trades below its 200-day SMA, which is a sign of a weak long-term trend. In my view, the trend is bearish, and a recovery needs a move back above the average and above Rs 5,210. Rs 4,920 is the key support, and a fall below it would put lower levels in view. A move above the Rs 5,210 key resistance would weaken the bearish view and bring a recovery attempt into focus. Bearish view while price trades below Rs 5,210.
