Symbiotec Pharmalab reported Q1 FY27 revenue of ₹218.2 crore, compared with ₹203.2 crore in Q1 FY26, marking a 7.4% YoY increase.
Profitability Performance:
On a standalone basis, net profit increased to ₹47.0 crore from ₹44.5 crore, while revenue stood at around ₹210.8 crore.
However, on a consolidated basis, EBITDA declined to ₹45.2 crore from ₹58.0 crore, while EBITDA margin moderated to approximately 21% from 29%.
Consolidated PAT stood at ₹14.1 crore versus ₹29.9 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The decline was attributed to expenses associated with new business initiatives that have not yet started generating commercial revenue.
API Business Continues to Grow
The core API business reported operating revenue of ₹215.3 crore, compared with ₹203.2 crore a year ago. API EBITDA increased to ₹65.8 crore from ₹60.1 crore, with EBITDA margins of around 30%.
Expansion Across New Businesses
Symbiotec is investing in complex injectables, biotech CDMO services and biopharmaceuticals. The company expects commercial revenue from several new capacities to begin over the next 6–12 months.
During the quarter, the company also submitted its first ANDA filing for a Dual Chamber Vial product in the US, while additional filings are planned.
The company estimates gross capital expenditure of approximately ₹1,666 crore by the end of FY27, supporting its expansion across these new business verticals.
