TCS Launches India’s First Lights-Out Factory Lab in Pune

New Facility Advances AI-First Smart Manufacturing: Tata Consultancy Services has launched the TCS Industrial Autonomy & Engineering Lab – Lights-Out Factory at its Sahyadri Park campus in Pune. The facility is described by TCS as India’s first lights-out factory lab, demonstrating manufacturing with minimal human intervention. It houses a fully robotic battery-pack assembly line that can simulate multiple stages of automated production. The facility combines digital twins, robotics, industrial AI, factory control systems and real-time operational intelligence to demonstrate self-optimising manufacturing. Manufacturers can use the lab to prototype, validate and scale AI-first production systems before deploying them in live factory environments.
