Vivid Electromech IPO
Vivid Electromech Ltd. (VEL) stands as an established player in the electrical panels and automation systems sector, boasting over three decades of operational expertise. As an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer, VEL designs, fabricates, and commissions a wide array of Low-Voltage and Medium-Voltage panels, catering to critical sectors such as data centers, infrastructure, and renewable energy, supported by strong OEM partnerships with industry leaders like ABB and Schneider Electric. While the company has reported significant growth in both revenue and profit, a closer look reveals an eyebrow-raising surge in net profits from FY24, prompting questions about its long-term sustainability. This comes as VEL prepares for its maiden IPO, seeking to raise Rs. 130.54 crore at a price band of Rs. 528-555 per share, primarily for a new manufacturing unit and working capital. The proposed valuation, with a P/E of 26.12 based on annualized H1 FY26 earnings, appears aggressively priced, seemingly baking in much of this recent "super earnings" performance. The listed peer comparison, unfortunately, does little to justify this premium. For savvy investors with a higher risk appetite and a medium-term horizon, this could be an interesting, albeit cautiously approached, proposition.
