Flexi Cap Fund hits Rs 1 lakh crore AUM; Delivers 31 years of market‑beating returns

HDFC Mutual Fund’s oldest scheme, the HDFC Flexi Cap Fund, has achieved a major milestone. On February 13, the fund’s Assets Under Management (AUM) crossed the Rs 1‑lakh‑crore mark. Apart from being the the largest scheme of HDFC AMC in terms of AUM, the fund also ranks among the top equity funds for long‑term returns. Flexi‑cap funds have the freedom to invest across large‑cap, mid‑cap and small‑cap stocks without any preset limits, allowing fund managers to shift allocations based on market valuations and the earnings outlook Launched on January 1, 1995, the fund has consistently created wealth for investors over the last three decades. Over 31 years, lump‑sum investments have delivered around 19 per cent annual returns, translating into nearly 200‑times absolute growth. Meanwhile, SIP investments have generated about 21 per cent CAGR, where a monthly SIP of Rs 2,500 has grown to Rs 5.6 crore over 31 years.
