Promoter Sanjay Dalmia Barred by Sebi

Market regulator Sebi has barred Golden Tobacco promoter Sanjay Dalmia from securities markets for two years following findings of undisclosed related-party transactions amounting to ₹139 crore. An order dated August 29, 2025, imposed a ₹30 lakh penalty on Dalmia under PFUTP and LODR regulations. Co-accused Anurag Dalmia received an 18-month ban and ₹20 lakh fine, while former director Ashok Kumar Joshi was barred for one year with a ₹10 lakh penalty. The advance of ₹175.17 crore to a subsidiary, largely unreturned, led to material misstatement of financials and disclosure lapses.
