SWIGGY
y’s latest quarterly numbers show something interesting about India’s quick-commerce and food-delivery battle.
For Q2 FY27, Swiggy reported revenue of ₹7,571 crore, up 36.1% year-on-year. Its consolidated net loss narrowed to ₹922 crore, compared with ₹1,092 crore a year earlier.
That’s progress, but there’s more to the story.
Quick-commerce revenue grew 33.3% to ₹1,306 crore, while food-delivery revenue increased 21.6% to ₹2,338 crore. Both businesses are expanding, but growth in revenue alone doesn’t tell us whether the company is building a sustainable profit model.
Quick commerce is a particularly demanding business. Companies have to invest in dark stores, delivery networks, discounts and customer acquisition while competing for repeat orders.
The key question is how efficiently Swiggy can turn that growth into better profitability.
I’ll be watching whether losses continue to narrow, whether each business improves its margins, and how much investment is needed to keep growing.
Because in this sector, gaining customers is only one part of the challenge.
**The real test is making that growth profitable.**#Today’sTradingSetup#StockInNews#IndexStrategies#WatchOutFor#PersonalFinance
