reported consolidated net profit of ₹747 crore in Q2 FY27, up 16% from ₹644 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations increased 42% year on year to ₹4,258 crore, while EBITDA surged 46% to ₹3,797 crore.
Power supply revenue rose 45% to ₹4,019 crore, with power supply EBITDA increasing 51%. Quarterly energy sales grew 33% to 12,090 million units, while H1 FY27 energy sales increased 32% to 25,747 million units. These figures indicate higher renewable energy generation and improved operating scale.
Operational renewable capacity expanded 24% year on year to 20.8 GW, supported by 4,083 MW of greenfield additions across solar, wind and hybrid projects. At Khavda in Gujarat, operational capacity reached 10.8 GW, compared with 7.1 GW a year ago. Operational battery energy storage capacity at the project reached 6.63 GWh.
Despite strong headline growth, the shares reportedly declined around 4% intraday following the results. Investors may be weighing capital expenditure, project execution and infrastructure requirements alongside the growth outlook. The company’s 50 GW capacity target by 2030 remains dependent on timely commissioning, battery storage deployment and transmission infrastructure availability.
My View:
The results are operationally strong, with double-digit profit growth, faster revenue and EBITDA expansion, and rising energy sales. However, continued investment requirements and execution risks remain important. The market reaction also suggests investors may be looking beyond headline growth to assess future returns and funding needs.
What to watch:
Progress towards 50 GW capacity by 2030, Khavda commissioning milestones, battery storage deployment, transmission availability, debt and financing costs, and future EBITDA margins.
