Dilip Buildcon Secures ₹1,800 Crore LPG Pipeline LOI
Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL) has achieved a dual corporate milestone, successfully balancing aggressive order book growth with strategic capital recycling under its 'DBL 2.0' asset-light framework.
Key Highlights:
New Order (₹1,800 Crore): Secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) from PNGRB for the Paradip-Raipur LPG pipeline project. The scope includes EPC works over 36 months, followed by 25 years of operation and maintenance via a wholly-owned SPV.
Strategic Divestment (₹2,914 Crore EV): Executed definitive agreements to sell its 51% stake in the under-construction Mekhali Power Transmission Limited SPV to Alpha Alternatives. The project (estimated cost: ₹2,171 crore) is being funded in a 51:49 equity ratio between DBL and Alpha Alternatives.
Strategic Rationale:
Capital Recycling & Deleveraging: The Mekhali divestment validates DBL’s asset-light model. By partnering with financial sponsors for equity funding and executing pre-agreed exits post-commissioning, DBL rapidly recycles capital into fresh opportunities without bloating its balance sheet.
Stable, Low-Risk Revenue: The new LPG pipeline project generates predictable, tariff-based revenue. DBL is insulated from operational commodity risks as it is not involved in the procurement, trading, or distribution of the LPG itself.
Outlook:
These simultaneous announcements showcase exceptional strategic execution. DBL is successfully expanding its addressable market beyond traditional road infrastructure into specialized energy logistics, while systematically shedding capital-heavy assets to optimize returns and strengthen its balance sheet.
