Hindustan Zinc Partners with Sulfozyme Agro to Boost Downstream Operations at Rajasthan Zinc Park

(HZL), a Vedanta Group company, has signed an MoU with Sulfozyme Agro India Pvt. Ltd. to establish manufacturing operations at its flagship Zinc Industrial Park in Khankhala, Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. Key Highlights: Scope of Work: Sulfozyme Agro will focus on processing zinc-based materials into value-added products for industrial and downstream applications. HZL’s Support: HZL will provide assured raw material linkages, integrated supply chains, and ready-to-use infrastructure to ensure scalable manufacturing. Park Context: The Zinc Industrial Park, developed in collaboration with RIICO and unveiled at the Rising Rajasthan Summit (Dec 2024), is envisioned as a dedicated downstream hub integrating raw material proximity with value addition. Strategic Significance: Value Chain Integration: Moves HZL beyond primary metal production to foster a robust downstream ecosystem, capturing higher margins and reducing reliance on raw metal exports. MSME & Regional Growth: The park is designed to attract processors, MSMEs, and downstream manufacturers, boosting local entrepreneurship and industrial job creation in Rajasthan. Circular Economy & ESG: The focus on sustainable metal recovery and resource efficiency aligns perfectly with HZL’s Net Zero by 2050 targets and its low-carbon ‘EcoZen’ green zinc initiative.
