Shareholder to Sell 6.32% Stake in Privi Speciality Chemicals via Block Deal
A shareholder of Privi Speciality Chemicals is set to divest up to 6.32% stake in the company through a block deal valued at ₹700 crore. The floor price for the transaction has been set between ₹2,835–₹2,850 per share, reflecting a 11.14% discount to the current market price of ₹3,228 (as of December 30).
The block deal offers institutional investors an efficient way to acquire a substantial position in the mid-cap specialty chemicals firm without market disruption.
This follows earlier promoter sales in June, when four promoter entities sold a combined 4.09% stake for ₹329.88 crore, reducing their holding from 74.05% to 69.96%. The upcoming sale suggests continued strategic divestment, though not necessarily by promoters this time.
Privi’s strong stock performance — up 3.92% on the day and showing positive momentum — provides a conducive environment for the deal. The significant discount and focused sector exposure make it an attractive opportunity for long-term institutional investors eyeing the specialty chemicals space.
